Accompanist

Dawn MacGarvey

Dawn MacGarvey has developed a reputation as a versatile collaborator for singers and instrumentalists as well as a highly sought piano teacher and adjudicator. After graduating from Old Dominion University with a degree in piano performance, Dawn joined the part-time faculty there and at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia.  She has taught students of all ages at the Marsh School of Music in Norfolk, at South Shore Conservatory in Hingham, Massachusetts, and at her private piano studio.
 Dawn greatly enjoys the role of accompanist and has performed  with numerous members of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra in recital, with Norfolk Civic Ballet, and the Norfolk Chamber Consort. On the South Shore, she is rehearsal  accompanist for Fine Arts Chorale, sings with Unicorn Singers, and performs with Aujourd’hui Ensemble.
A founding member of South Shore Music Teachers Association and a lifetime member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers Hall of Fame, Dawn adjudicates locally for the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association and throughout the United States for the American College of Musicians.
